In the performance series MONUMENT, Eszter Salamon creates a world with its own logic. The new work, created with Carte Blanche and entitled The Living Monument, explores the monument as an emancipatory space resisting oblivion and exclusion. In the manner of an installation, the visual environment develops into a living monument of voices, movements, figures and textile materials. The gradual transformation between colours, sounds and costumes creates the dynamic contemporary dance approach of The Living Monument.
Press talks about it
”The slow, microscopic movements of the choreography are inextricably linked to the costumes. […] This creates its own rhythm and logic, with dreamlike atmospheres in which something familiar and concrete is abstracted and displaced.”
Judith Dybendal, Scenekunst
