An Evening with Morricone
Choreography : Marcos Morau
Music : Ennio Morricone
Set and lighting design : Marc Salicrú
Costume design : Silvia Delagneau
Three years after the death of the famous Italian composer, the Aterballetto company has decided to pay tribute to him by collaborating for the first time with the Spanish choreographer Marcos Morau.
Morricone’s iconic music, almost impossible to separate from the images that accompany it, is summoned here precisely for its evocative power.
As a great admirer of Morricone, Morau draws on this imagination to create a new landscape in which movement and image merge.
« Morricone’s music embodies that abstract sense of what is unspoken and unseen in movies. [… His music has a powerful melancholic quality that comes both from a contemplation of the past and from the impossibility of capturing any past experience. »
