Rhapsody in Blue
Choreography Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich
Music George Gershwin, Bessie Jones
Set and costume design Fabio Cherstich
Lighting design Eric Soyer
Created in February 2024 – Duration 25 min
Rhapsody in Blue draws inspiration from Gershwin’s masterpiece and the unique experiences of the choreographers. The piece removes/transcends the original work’s New York context and era, infusing it with a universal dimension through a poetic approach to movement and stagecraft.
Press talks about it
« Ansa and Bacovich’s [est] style is fluid and sculptural, highly musical, with touches of athletic virtuosity. It captivates with the undulating movements of the ensemble, occasionally revealing dazzling portraits of solo dancers. »
