FLOWERS
Choreography Edouard Hue
Music Jonathan Soucasse
Lights Arnaud Viala
Dramaturgic advice Hugo Roux
Creation in august 2024 – Duration 60 min
After ten years of choreography and working in complex contexts, such as during the pandemic years, Edouard Hue seeks a new starting point in his choreographic writing by exploring forms he has yet to fully explore (jumps, turns, partnering). FLOWERS is an ode to the simplicity of shared moments, a time for friends to reunite, play, share, and find peace.
One duo focuses on the attraction between individuals, while another duo brings a wave of excitement to the stage. A trio combines the necessity of rising by supporting each other with an exploration of lifts. The dancers come together in a quartet that blossoms with their common desire to live and feel alive.
Flowers is a piece that brings smiles with its lightness, dramaturgical simplicity, and freshness. The playful, lively, and cheerful movements create a performance built in harmony with the performers. The piece exudes a continuous flow of emotions and movements across the space. Edouard Hue sees his dancers as buds blossoming to shine, nurtured by everything around them. With FLOWERS, the choreographer highlights the sense of pleasure and freedom through dance.

Shiver
Shiver is a commission from the Yokohama Ballet Festival, one of the most prestigious galas in Japan. For the 2019 edition, the 5th anniversary of the festival, Yasuyuki ENDO asked Edouard Hue to create a duet for Yurié Tsugawa - Angelin Preljocaj's soloist for 10 years and Yoann Bourgeois' assistant - and himself.
