Restaged for Aterballetto in February 2025 – Duration 20 min

Inspired by Mark Strand’s poem «Lines for Winter,» Solo Echo combines two sonatas for cello and piano by Johannes Brahms, the winter season, and the movement of the body to explore themes of love, acceptance, and loss.

Reconciliatio

Choreography Angelin Preljocaj
Music Ludwig Van Beethoven
Costumes Igor Chapurin
Lighting design Cécile Giovansil
Assistant choreographer Claudia De Smet

Created in 2010 – Restaged for Aterballetto in 2024 – Duration 10 min

Dance has the subtle power to reveal our fears, anxieties and hopes through movement. This duet explores the theme of reconciliation. Inspired freely by the Apocalypse, the piece does not seek to illustrate the text, but to reveal – in the very spirit of ‘lifting the veil’ – what remains hidden in our world. Through the delicate relationship between the two performers, profound themes emerge, visible or invisible, that resonate with each and every one of us.

An echo, a wave

Choreography Philippe Kratz
Sound design Tommaso Michelini

Duration 10min

No sight conveys the idea of eternity better than the sea. Faced with its infinite expanse, we become aware of our fragility and smallness. The Mediterranean, in particular, has been the source of countless stories told by the peoples who live along its shores, stories of discovery, exile, encounters, hope and tragedy. Its waves have travelled through centuries, like so many passages, wars and shared knowledge. In An echo, a wave, we find this continuous movement: fluid like the sea, it creates emotional interplay, bringing two people closer together and pushing them further apart.

Preludio

Choreography Diego Tortelli
Music AAVV
Lighting design Carlo Cerri

Created in 2021 – Duration 16 min

Preludio takes us into the union of two worlds: the Italian village party meets the electrounderground scene of Europe’s metropolis. Two contrasting atmospheres, yet sharing one thing in common: dancing in unison and sharing the moment. Two different contexts, but driven by the same sense of freedom.
