The Collective Agreement
Choreography Alonzo King
Music Jason Moran
Lights Jim Campbell
Created in 2018 for the San Francisco Ballet
Revival in 2024 – Duration 28min
Initially commissioned by the San Francisco Ballet in 2018, The Collective Agreement is being revitalized through the reinterpretation of Alonzo King, the impeccable technique of the LINES Ballet dancers, and the innovative light installation by artist Jim Campbell. The choreographer once again collaborates with jazz pianist Jason Moran to create an artistic synergy that will give the ballet a new resonance.
The intimacy of the duets and ensembles echoes the progressive rhythms of the composer’s score. The music was recorded live by the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, with Jason Moran on piano, marking his eighth composition for the LINES Ballet.
Press talks about it
